I really need to stop going to bed at like 1-3 in the morning every night. Seriously, self. Bah.

Well, my new camera came in the other day! It's not totally new, 'cause I'm on a massive budget, but it's a Canon Rebel XT, which is a step up from the plain Rebel I formerly used. Also a lot smaller and lighter!

In conclusion, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK TORCHWOOD? WHAT?

(Oh wait, in another conclusion, I just read this comment and maybe it's because I'm tired, but now I can't stop laughing and I needed to share.)
So, some exciting shit when down in my absence, including: me turning 17!, taking awful AP Exams (which reminds me, CAN I GET MY SCORES PLEASE? D:), attending prom!, alienating more friends but gaining new ones, becoming a junior marshall and as a result, enduring an awfully hot graduation which let to massive amounts of sweat in odd places, getting out of school, going to Ohio for a wedding, and returning to have awesome grades on my report card. Now if only I could find a job.

July looks promising though. Carowinds on the eighth, Hey Monday on the fifteenth, beach on the eighteenth, Warped Tour on the twenty-third, and possibly taking LeeAnna to see Demi Lovato on whatever day she comes. In August, we have Fireworks and Set Your Goals to look forward to, as well as Far-Less' last show :(, and Farewell's release show with Yearling. :DDDD

photo dump for the past few months. )

There won't be many pictures in the meantime, however, because my camera has kicked the bucket :( According to the guy at Ritz Camera, it would cost between two and three hundred dollars to fix it and for that price it's just easier to buy a new camera body and end up with a nicer one anyway. Still, blech, I hate making my parents spend that much money. The new camera body will be here some time next week, I think?

Finally, STAR TREK, HURRY UP AND COME TO THE $2.50 THEATRE SO I CAN WATCH YOU ON A LARGE SCREEN INSTEAD OF ON MY COMPUTER/IPOD LIKE THE THREE TIMES I'VE DONE THUS FAR >:( assholes.

Oh and my older sister is back in the country after six weeks in Peru. I was getting quite used to using her laptop but whatever.

sup livejournal? this is the first time i've even like, logged into this journal since march apparently and i have no idea why. i will update with a bunch of pictures and stuff sometime.

i am the worst lj friend /o\
you know how you know when you're awesome? when you use a gossip girl reference in an essay about the glorification of being a bad person.

but the weather has been so nice these past two days that i'm just full of happiness. spring, how i love thee ♥ my birthday is in less than a month! r-rated movies! giving blood! being eligible for certain jobs! seventeen doesn't exactly come with the same excitement as sixteen, but hey, a birthday is a birthday is a birthday.

there is honestly no point in this entry, except for i'm avoiding this essay and my apush homework.

have some gifs )

so how about they're having a clothing and book swap at krankie's on sunday? hipsters have some nice clothes, i'm excited.

i had a lovely valentine's day. ♥ jose took me to a proper restaurant and we bought a build-a-bear together and it was really, really nice. i spent the rest of the weekend watching skins and the sarah jane adventures and being a general lazy bum.

today, however, jose and i explored downtown a bit since he didn't have to work. it's kind of weird taking over activities that used to essentially belong to kaitlyn, lauren, and me. still, i had a fun time.

11th-Nov-2008 07:14 pm - happy veteran's day

today, my grandfather would've been 94 if he were still alive. that's older than some people's great grandparents, but he married late. he was a veteran from world war II and he won a purple heart for his work. i always thought his birthday was especially appropriate for that reason. the pictures up there are from my grandparent's wedding day. he lived through the great depression, through the civil rights movement, to raise three children, to see his eight grandchildren grow up. i miss him.
